Braveheart Soundtrack
Braveheart Soundtrack was released on May 23. 1995. The soundtrack to the Oscar awarding winning film starring and directed by Mel Gibson features a number of musical tracks all composed by James Horner, and performed by the famous London Symphony Orchestra. The Soundtrack features 18 tracks, including the main theme and is available on amazon.com, local retailers, and via Internet downloads, something unheard of back in 1995 when the sound track was released.
James Horner, the films composer, and master of the historical epic created an audio tapestry that weaves the emotional and historical elements of Braveheart together into a cohesive whole. Much as he did on Legends of the Fall and the more Recent King Kong, James Horner is a master of large scale filmmaking and empowers each battle scene with brutal energy, and every tender moment with the perfect musical accompaniment.
The Long Symphony Orchestra performs the tracks with its usual polish and mastery that we have all become accustomed to over the years. The London Orchestra is a gold standard for Orchestra performance and has been featured on countless feature films, including Star Wars and more recent films such as Lord of the Rings.
If you are interested in purchasing the soundtrack it is available for fewer than 20 dollars on compact disc, and if you are a proud owner of one of those new fangled ipods, you can download the score on the net via Amazon, or itunes. No matter how you slice it, the Braveheart Soundtrack is a benchmark for epic film composition and is a great listen as a stand-alone product.
